Yes, Yes, Yes"Are you married, River?"Yes, Yes, Yes by Betawhofic
Her heart leaped at the question. She stifled it down and concentrated on buckling her vortex manipulator. He'd asked. He actually had asked her to marry him before just taking her agreement for granted up on that pyramid.
Her hearts were beating so fast, and with such joy that she could barely stifle her impulse to jump on him and kiss him all over his pretty young face.
She wanted to dance around. Preferably nude. Preferably with him. She could feel her eyes sparkling with mad joy. He'd actually asked. He'd been interested as far back as this.
"Are you asking?" She wanted to be clear, she wanted it crystal clear what he was asking.
Ooh, smooth talker, that sexy voice.
And she was definitely going to answer. This time she wasn't just following instructions. "Yes."
"No, hang on," he said, panicked, she loved that trapped, horrified look on his face. He was so young, so gorgeous in that tux. A tux for a wedding. Her stomach rolled with gidd
Whining About WineFrom the prompt: "You know how Eleven is always spitting out his wine, how about a story where River tries to find a wine that the Doctor likes and succeeds."Whining About Wine by Betawhofic
He took a sip, made a face, and spat it out.
He looked mournfully down into his glass. "Elderberry wine. I thought for sure I'd like elderberry!" he wailed, pulling a huge frowny face like a child denied cookies.
River laughed at him and handed him a baguette. "It's not the end of the world, Sweetie."
"But I used to love wine!" he whined. He tore a chunk off the loaf and chewed vengefully, using it to get the taste out of his mouth. He swallowed and waved the rest of the loaf at her. They were dining at a little outdoor cafe in 1860's Paris. People bustled past on their own business, some of them in bustles.
"Maybe your taste buds have changed," River said, delicately spooning up a lovely consommé. A small jaunty hat was perched on her head.
The Doctor drew his attention from the delightful picture she m

River walked into the Tardis, strode over to him, wrapped her arms around his waist, laid her head on his chest, and just stood there.
The Doctor froze, surprised. She felt wonderful. All soft and warm. But he didn't know what to do. She was just standing there. He was used to River being more, well, forward.
Not that her forward wasn't quite nice...and her back...and her bottom...and her top. In fact, she was delightful all over...
She laid a small, shivery kiss on his neck, just above his collar. She tipped her head back and smiled at him. "Let's go swimming."
He took her to Palormnden Theta. The sand was blue, shading to pink and violet, indigo and ivory in places. They built a sand castle. Quite a good one. Five feet tall with crenelations and towers and spiral roofs made of seashells. One of them crawled off.
When the surf knocked down their castle, R
Anniversary BluesIt's River's first wedding anniversary since her last kiss with the Doctor. She's not handling it well.Anniversary Blues by Betawhofic
"She's in there," the sweating man waved at the bar. "She's crazy! Unfortunately, she's also a good shot."
"What set her off?"
"Hell if I know," the little man rubbed his bald pate. "She came in looking like she wanted to drown her sorrows, and next thing I know she's shooting shit out of my bar!"
The tall man patted him on the shoulder, "I'll see what I can do."
He walked into a smoking rubble of a bar. Tables were turned over, drinks spilled, bottles shattered, glass crunched under foot.
He found her sitting in the corner, back to the wall, a whining gun in one hand, and a half-empty bottle of Tequila in the other. From the evidence on the table it wasn't the first.
"River," he muttered calmingly.
She looked wired, her eyes electric, as dangerous as someone with nothing to lose. She shot at him. The bolt sizzled over his shoulder, close enough that he felt the heat of i
